ME AND THE GUYS

What is it about KISS that joins so many together in their “Army”? For me, it was always the music. I love when Paul & Gene share vocal duties, as in “Shout It Out Loud”, my fav song from my fav early KISS album, Destroyer, and “Stand”, from their most recent release, Sonic Boom. Sure, I’ve patiently waited to see what new costumes they’d come up with, and what their sound would be like on the new album, and I stuck with KISS through it all, for better or worse.

I’ve been in love with Paul Stanley for over 30 years. I got on the KISS bandwagon towards the end of 1977, when Alive II was released. I attended nearly every show when they returned to their hometown, NYC, over the years, vowing to get better seats each time, which I did accomplish.

I’ve met the boys numerous times also, and the first time was after the Lick It Up concert at Radio City, thanks to the late J.J. Jackson from MTV, who gave me tickets and backstage passes. It was also the first time I used a 35mm camera, borrowed from a friend. In the green room, an MTV guy took pictures of me with the boys which unfortunately didn’t come out because I unknowingly changed the camera’s settings! I’ve taken thousands of pictures of KISS in concert since then, some of which have been published in various media, including Union Do Your Own Thing Live! (DVD, 2005), KISS Alive Forever (book, 2002), Official 1999 KISS Calender, Eric Carr Rockology (compact disc, 1999 and 2000 re-release), Eric Carr Tale of the Fox (video,1999), Eric Carr mini-trading card sets (1999, 2000)
